Foster children over 15 years old must receive a visit to a Missouri state university or state community/technical college in their area before adoption or termination from foster care, effective July 1, 2014.

Youth in the Division of Youth Services over 15 years old must receive a visit to a Missouri state university or state community/technical college in their area before completion of custody or training, effective July 1, 2014.

Required visits may be waived by the youth's family support team (for foster children) or treatment team (for Division of Youth Services youth).

College visits must include entry application process, financial support application and availability information, career options with academic or technical training, facility tour, and other requested information and experiences.

Visits are provided as supplementary services in addition to other required services for older youth in foster care or the Division of Youth Services.
