Department of Elementary and Secondary Education must establish a work group by September 1, 2013 to assess resources needed for work experiences for youth with disabilities.

Work group shall review interagency coordination of services matching young adults with disabilities to employers, evaluating adequacy in recruitment, assessment, counseling, pre-employment training, vocational training, student wages, job placement, and transition assistance.

Work group shall evaluate current efforts and involve stakeholders including students, families, educators, employers, and other agencies to plan services leading to employment and quality of life for secondary and adult students with disabilities.

Department of Elementary and Secondary Education shall determine if additional state partnerships through nonfinancial interagency agreements with health, economic development, mental health, or social services departments are needed to enhance employment potential.

Department must report findings and recommendations to the General Assembly prior to January 1, 2014, with the entire provision expiring on that date.
