School districts may choose to allow schools to observe a brief period of silence at the opening of each school day in individual classrooms, not to exceed two minutes.

The period of silence shall be conducted as an opportunity for silent reflection on anticipated daily activities, not as a religious exercise.

All pupils assembled in the classroom are expected to participate in the moment of silence.

School districts implementing a moment of silence must establish a policy that includes a schedule for observance, expectations for permissible behavior during the moment, and consequences for improper behavior.
