Beginning January 1, 2014, no member of the general assembly shall accrue credited service under the Missouri State Employees' Retirement System.

Existing members of the general assembly who have already accrued credited service may continue to receive benefits based on service rendered before January 1, 2014.

Members of the general assembly retain eligibility for retirement benefits based on service rendered before the January 1, 2014 effective date if they meet age and service requirements.

The bill amends sections 104.1015, 104.1021, 104.1051, 104.1084, and 104.1087 of Missouri Revised Statutes relating to retirement benefits under the Year 2000 Plan.

Statewide elected officials remain eligible to accrue credited service under the retirement system provisions outlined in section 104.1084.
