Property owners whose property is damaged by law enforcement during service of process become eligible for compensation from the Crime Victims' Compensation Fund, except when the property is owned by the offender or an accomplice.

Compensation for property damage during service of process equals half of the reasonable reimbursement costs of the damaged property.

Property damage compensation requires the claimant to have incurred an out-of-pocket loss of at least $50 or lost two continuous weeks of earnings, consistent with other compensation eligibility requirements.

The maximum total award under the Crime Victims' Compensation Fund remains capped at $25,000, with compensation for property damage subject to the existing loss-of-earnings limit of $200 per week.
