Senate Bill No. 314 Summary

• Repeals and reenacts section 324.024, RSMo to modify Social Security number requirements for professional license applications and renewals

• Removes the requirement that renewal applications contain Social Security numbers, applying the Social Security number requirement only to initial applications and first renewals

• Exempts foreign citizens who have never been issued a Social Security number and have not been previously licensed from the requirement, allowing them to submit visa or passport identification numbers instead

• Requires Social Security numbers to be collected at the first renewal for any license that did not originally contain one

• Permits agencies to maintain collected Social Security numbers on file in compliance with federal law, but prohibits requiring the number on subsequent applications after the first renewal
