School board of education may adopt a year-round educational program by majority vote at a public meeting upon adoption of a resolution

Board of education must notify the commissioner of education within seven business days of adopting a year-round educational program

School districts adopting year-round programs must meet all other state educational requirements

Year-round educational program defined as one where all students attend school no fewer than the required number of days between July 1 and June 30 each school year with no vacation period, including summer, lasting more than four weeks

School calendar must include opening and ending dates for the school year
