Repeals requirement that school terms consist of 174 days (five-day week) or 142 days (four-day week) plus 1,044 hours of attendance, replacing it with a minimum of 1,080 hours of actual pupil attendance regardless of calendar structure.

Removes the definition of "minimum school day" (three hours for five-day week, four hours for four-day week) and "school month" from statute, allowing flexibility in how hours are distributed.

Changes makeup requirements for weather-related closures from six days plus half of additional days to thirty-six hours plus half of additional hours, with a cap of sixty total makeup hours required.

Modifies kindergarten minimum attendance from 174 days and 522 hours to 540 hours of actual pupil attendance in a school term.

Eliminates section 171.029 establishing four-day school weeks, making the hour-based system the default requirement for all school districts.
