Women who currently serve or were honorably discharged from any branch of the United States Armed Forces may apply for special "WOMAN VETERAN" license plates for vehicles they own solely or jointly (excluding apportioned and commercial vehicles over 18,000 pounds gross weight).

Applicants must submit proof of military service to the Director of Revenue and pay a $15 fee in addition to regular registration fees.

Special license plates shall display "WOMAN VETERAN" at the bottom, be made with fully reflective material, have a common color scheme, and be clearly visible at night per section 301.130 standards.

No additional fee applies for personalizing license plates under this section, and qualified individuals may obtain multiple sets of plates for different vehicles they own.

License plates are non-transferable except registered co-owners may operate the vehicle with the plates for the remainder of the licensed year if the qualified woman veteran dies.
