HB 1235 Summary

• Increases maximum gross weight for vehicles hauling livestock or agricultural products from 80,000 pounds to 85,500 pounds on non-interstate highways, with a $25 annual permit requirement.

• Expands the definition of "agricultural product" to include crops, processed goods, livestock, poultry, aquacultural products, forestry products, and items with value added in Missouri.

• Extends local log truck operating radius from one hundred miles to two hundred miles from the forested site, and allows transportation of "any form or type" of harvested forest products.

• Allows milk hauling vehicles to operate at 85,500 pounds maximum gross weight on non-interstate highways.

• Excludes local log trucks from the new livestock and agricultural product weight allowance in subsection 9.
