Requires each student to develop a personal plan of study by the end of sixth grade in conjunction with their parent/guardian and school district.

Mandates school districts adopt policies for comprehensive guidance and counseling programs focused on career awareness in elementary grades, career exploration in middle grades, and educational/career planning in high school.

District policies must include participation by counselors, teachers, administrators, and parents; adequate resources and training; sufficient time for implementation; and access to the statewide web-based educational and career planning system.

Plans must be reviewed annually and updated based on student needs, covering an eight-year term or until postsecondary goals are achieved, with implementation transferring to postsecondary education or training upon graduation.

Personal plans must include graduation requirements, career or postsecondary goals based on career paths/clusters, relevant coursework, and student assessments or interest inventories.
