School districts and charter schools must establish a parental notification policy if they provide instruction on the theory of evolution by natural selection.

Schools must notify parents or legal guardians of the basic content of evolution instruction and the parent's right to remove their student from any part of that instruction.

Parents have the right to opt their student out of any portion of the school's evolution instruction.

All curriculum materials used in evolution instruction must be made available for public inspection under chapter 610 prior to use in actual classroom instruction.
