Repeals and replaces section 510.265, RSMo, regarding punitive damages caps in civil lawsuits.

Caps punitive damages at the greater of $500,000 or five times the compensatory damages awarded to the plaintiff.

Changes the language from "judgment" to "compensatory damages" in the damage calculation formula.

Exempts punitive damage caps when the state of Missouri is the plaintiff or when the defendant pleads guilty to or is convicted of a felony related to the plaintiff's claims.

Excludes the cap from applying to civil actions under section 213.111 alleging violations of consumer protection and housing discrimination laws.
