Department of Social Services shall apply for a United States Department of Agriculture Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program grant to provide low-income seniors with vouchers for eligible foods at farmers' markets, roadside stands, and community supported agriculture programs.

Missouri Senior Farmers' Market Nutritional Program established within the Department of Social Services to distribute vouchers redeemable only at designated Missouri farmers' markets and roadside stands for fresh Missouri-grown produce.

Eligible seniors must be at least 60 years of age by December 31st of the program year and meet income eligibility criteria established annually by the United States Department of Agriculture.

Eligible seniors receive vouchers from designated distribution sites in their county of residence and receive lists of participating farmers, farmers' markets, and roadside stands; distribution site information provided at all county area agencies on aging.

Department of Social Services authorized to promulgate rules to implement the program in compliance with Missouri rulemaking procedures under chapter 536.
