Prohibits employers from requesting or requiring employees and job applicants to disclose usernames, passwords, or other authentication means for accessing personal online accounts or services.

Allows employers to request credentials only for: employer-supplied devices, employer-provided accounts/services, accounts used for business purposes, or accounts created through the employment relationship.

Prohibits employers from discharging, disciplining, or refusing to hire individuals who refuse to disclose personal account credentials, and protects employers from liability for not requesting such information.

Permits employers to investigate work-related misconduct and unauthorized transfer of proprietary information to personal accounts, and allows monitoring of employer-owned devices and networks in compliance with law.

Does not restrict employers from accessing publicly available information about employees or applicants, or from complying with state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
