MO HB1983

Repeals and replaces section 304.015, RSMo, concerning traffic regulations and lane usage requirements.

Establishes that vehicles must be driven in the right half of roadways, with exceptions for overtaking, left turns, construction closures, and one-way streets.

Prohibits trucks registered for gross weight over 48,000 pounds from using the far left-hand lane on interstate highways, freeways, or expressways with three or more lanes in urbanized areas, except when traffic control devices direct otherwise or the right side is closed for construction.

Defines "truck" to include vehicles designed for transportation of property and commercial motor vehicles as defined in section 301.010.

Establishes violations as class C misdemeanor, class B misdemeanor if creating immediate accident threat, or class A misdemeanor if an accident results.
