HB 2009 Summary

• Appropriates $725,156,473 total funding to the Missouri Department of Corrections for fiscal year July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015, comprised of $670,432,531 from General Revenue Fund, $5,240,196 from Federal Funds, and $49,483,746 from other funds.

• Limits Department of Corrections employment to no more than 10,848.87 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees from the General Revenue Fund.

• Funds major operations including adult correctional institutions, the Division of Human Services, Board of Probation and Parole, offender rehabilitative services, food services, telecommunications, training, and employee health and safety.

• Allocates $152,933,046 for contractual services for offender physical and mental health care and $43,330,272 to counties for costs in criminal cases and prisoner transportation.

• Requires General Assembly notification prior to expenditure of any grants, donations, contracts, or payments received from private, federal, or other governmental agencies between legislative sessions.
