Allows political subdivisions to elect by majority vote of their governing body to cover emergency medical service personnel as firemen members of the Missouri Local Government Employees' Retirement System.

Requires the clerk or secretary of the political subdivision to certify the election to the board within ten days, with the effective date being the first day of the calendar month specified by the governing body, the first day of the month following board receipt, or the employer's effective date, whichever is latest.

Makes the coverage election permanent and applicable to past and future employment by present and future employees once elected.

Changes employer contributions to correspond with the effective date of the election to cover emergency medical service personnel.

Exempts contribution increase limitations under section 70.730 from applying to any increases resulting from the election to cover emergency medical service personnel.
