Cites data showing 20,500 Missouri high school students failed to graduate in 2009 with over $5.3 billion in lost lifetime earnings, and the state spends $53 million annually on college remediation for underprepared graduates.

Encourages parents, educators, and community members to adopt a whole child approach to education and support the initiative throughout the designated month.

Urges every Missouri school to identify and promote at least one whole child tenet during the month-long observance.
