Beginning January 1, 2016, all health carriers and health benefit plans must file rates and supplementary rate information with the Missouri Department of Insurance, Financial Institutions and Professional Registration before using them in the state

Rates must be filed in the form and manner prescribed by the director, who has 30 days to notify insurers if required information is missing from a filing

All filed rates and supplementary rate information become open to public inspection at any reasonable time once submitted

Any person may obtain copies of filed rate information upon request and payment of a reasonable charge covering time and supplies

Violations constitute a level two violation under section 374.049
