Increases the state sales tax exemption cap for Energy Star certified new appliances from $1,500 to $2,000 per appliance during the annual Show Me Green Sales Tax Holiday

Sales tax holiday runs for seven days each year from April 19th through April 25th, applying to qualifying appliances since January 1, 2009

Qualifying appliances include clothes washers/dryers, water heaters, trash compactors, dishwashers, ovens, ranges, stoves, air conditioners, furnaces, refrigerators, and freezers

Political subdivisions may opt in to apply the holiday to local sales taxes by enacting an ordinance and notifying the Department of Revenue at least 45 days before the holiday begins

Retailers where less than 2% of merchandise qualifies for the holiday must offer sales tax refunds instead of applying the exemption at point of sale
