Extends work-after-retirement restrictions to retirees employed by third parties or working as independent contractors in school districts, if performing work as substitute teachers or in positions requiring teacher certification

Retirees may work up to 600 hours per school year (for PSRS) or 550 hours (for PEERS) and earn no more than 50% of their pre-retirement salary without losing retirement benefits

Retirement systems may require districts, third-party employers, independent contractors, and retirees to provide documentation proving compliance with work limitations

If documentation is not provided, the retirement system may deem the retiree to have exceeded the work limitations, resulting in suspension of retirement allowance payments

Applies to both the Public School Retirement System (sections 169.270-169.400) and the Public Education Employee Retirement System (sections 169.010-169.141)
