Establishes salary requirements for sheriffs in specific third classification counties beginning January 1, 2016

Applies to counties with 18,000-20,000 inhabitants without township government and a county seat city of 6,000-7,000 inhabitants, or counties with 31,000-35,000 inhabitants with township government

Sheriff salary must be at least one-half of the county prosecuting attorney's salary as established under section 56.265

Sheriff salary cannot exceed three times the base salary of the lowest-paid full-time deputy sheriff in the county
