Health care facilities, nursing homes, and physicians must disclose in writing any policies regarding life-sustaining or nonbeneficial treatment upon request by patients, residents, or prospective patients

For minor patients or wards, facilities must provide these written policies to at least one parent or legal guardian upon admission and upon request

Prohibits withholding life-sustaining procedures, food, medication, or nutrition from any minor patient without written permission from at least one parent or legal guardian

Do-not-resuscitate orders cannot be instituted for minor patients without written parental or guardian permission

Facilities are not required to have written policies on life-sustaining treatment; the law only mandates disclosure if such policies exist
