Board members appointed by the commissioner of education must include at least five members with minimum five years of education experience and at least two certified public accountants; no current Missouri school board members may serve

Focus areas include use of school district funds by the superintendent and chief operating officer, as well as general financial control concerns identified in the state audit

Meeting schedule requires monthly meetings for 12 months starting October 1, 2015, then quarterly meetings through October 2017, then semi-annual meetings until the board dissolves October 1, 2018

Board must submit written reports to the commissioner within 15 days of each meeting detailing progress on implementing state audit recommendations
