MO HB45

Amends Section 210.145, RSMo, to expand circumstances under which child abuse/neglect investigations may extend beyond the standard 45-day completion deadline

Adds local law enforcement officers to the list of officials who can certify in writing that a pending criminal investigation requires the division to delay issuing its determination

Previously, only the attorney general or prosecuting/circuit attorney could request investigation extensions to avoid adversely impacting criminal investigations

Maintains existing investigation timelines: 45 days standard, 90 days maximum for general cases, 120 days for sexual abuse cases, and open-ended for child fatalities or near-fatalities
