Nicotine liquid containers sold at retail in Missouri must meet federal child-resistant effectiveness standards (16 CFR 1700.15(b)) tested per 16 CFR 1700.20

"Nicotine liquid container" includes bottles or containers of nicotine-containing liquid intended for vapor products, but excludes prefilled and sealed cartridges not intended to be opened by consumers

Violations carry fines of $250 for the first offense and $500 for each subsequent violation

Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services may adopt rules to implement the child-resistant packaging requirements

State requirements become null and void if the federal FDA or other federal agency issues final regulations mandating child-resistant standards for nicotine liquid containers
