Defines "civil justice funding" as nonrecourse transactions where companies purchase a consumer's contingent right to proceeds from lawsuit settlements, judgments, awards, or verdicts

Exempts immediate family members of consumers from the definition of civil justice funding company

Exempts banks, lenders, and financing entities that provide financing to civil justice funding companies or receive security interests from them

Exempts attorneys and accountants who provide services to consumers
