Government entities are prohibited from installing or using automated license plate reader systems or automated traffic enforcement systems to enforce red-light or speed limit violations or collect captured motor vehicle data

Data collected by government entities prior to the law's enactment cannot be preserved for more than 30 days, unless subject to a court-approved preservation request or warrant

Sharing captured motor vehicle data with federal government entities is prohibited except pursuant to a preservation request, warrant, or exigent circumstances requiring immediate release

Preservation requests require an affidavit demonstrating specific articulable facts showing reasonable grounds that the data is relevant to an ongoing criminal or missing persons investigation or pending court proceeding

Captured motor vehicle data and evidence derived from it is inadmissible in any trial, hearing, or proceeding before any court or government authority if disclosure would violate this section
