All employees and volunteers at healthcare facilities inspected by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services must receive annual influenza vaccinations within three months prior to flu season, or within two weeks if starting work during flu season

Exemptions are permitted for medical contraindications (requiring physician documentation), religious beliefs (requiring a signed written statement), or vaccine shortages

Facilities are deemed non-compliant if less than 95% of inspected personnel files contain proof of vaccination or proper exemption documentation

Non-compliant facilities face reinspection within three months, and if still non-compliant, a fine of $50 per full-time employee to fund inspections and flu prevention education

The law automatically sunsets six years after taking effect unless reauthorized by the General Assembly
