Concealed carry permit holders in Missouri may renew their permits through the sheriff of any county in the state, not just their county of residence

The sheriff processing a renewal must notify the sheriff of the applicant's residence county and transfer necessary documents; the residence county sheriff retains all original records

Sheriffs issuing renewals to non-residents of their county must follow the same rules and regulations as when renewing permits for county residents

Renewal applications require the same information as initial applications under section 571.101, but applicants need only display their current permit instead of submitting fingerprints or completing firearms safety training

A National Instant Criminal Background Check System name-based inquiry must be completed for each renewal application
