Department of Health and Senior Services must establish a pilot program allowing local health departments to conduct nursing facility inspections instead of the state

Participation is voluntary and at the expense of the local health department

Participating local health departments gain access to all facilities in their jurisdiction and their financial information, data, and records needed for inspections

Inspectors working for local health departments must meet the same certification requirements as state inspectors under section 198.525

Program automatically sunsets 6 years after the effective date unless reauthorized by the General Assembly; if reauthorized, sunsets after 12 additional years
