Refugees placed in Missouri under the federal Refugee Resettlement Program must register with the Department of Social Services within 30 days of entering the state

Registration requires providing name, address, telephone number, job status, employer information, all government assistance received, criminal record, and other information deemed relevant by the department; updates must be filed within 10 days of any changes

Registration information will be maintained in a publicly accessible database on the department's website

Resettlement organizations and their directors can be held individually liable in civil court for damages if a refugee from a federally-recognized state sponsor of terrorism causes death, injury, or property damage

State and local funds are prohibited from being expended to directly or indirectly benefit refugees placed in Missouri under the program unless authorized by the general assembly
