Higher education entities joining the plan must remain for a minimum of five years before becoming eligible to withdraw

The board may require a first-year adjustment payment from higher education entities if their employee population is actuarially substantial and materially different from the current state plan population

Withdrawal after the five-year period requires governing board approval and six months' notice prior to the end of the current plan year

The plan assumes no responsibility for liabilities incurred by participating higher education entities or their employees, retirees, and dependents prior to joining
