Cities, towns, villages, or counties may levy up to $50 annually for lateral sewer service line repairs on residential properties with six or fewer dwelling units, if approved by majority voter approval

Repairs must cover all defective portions of the lateral sewer service line from the residential structure to the public sewer system connection when fees are established or increased

Condominiums with six or fewer units per building are subject to the fee, with each unit paying its proportionate share; units with individual lateral lines are treated as individual residences

Fee payments are exempt from section 139.031 requirements, and class action challenges are authorized under Article X, sections 22 and 23 of the Missouri Constitution

Collected funds must be deposited in a special account used solely for lateral sewer service line repairs, with all interest accruing to that account
