Chief juvenile officers would be elected by voters in each judicial circuit at general elections every six years, rather than appointed by juvenile courts

Elected chief juvenile officers would begin their duties on January 1 following their election

Deputy juvenile officers would continue to be appointed to serve under the elected chief juvenile officer

Juvenile courts would retain authority to appoint other necessary juvenile court personnel

Adjoining circuits could still share personnel (other than chief juvenile officers) through agreements confirmed by judicial order
