Missouri applies to Congress under Article V of the U.S. Constitution for a convention of states limited to proposing an amendment to reduce the corrupting influence of money in elections and restore free and fair elections

Missouri delegates to the convention must be individuals currently elected to state or local office, or selected by election in each congressional district; anyone who has held federal office is prohibited from serving as a delegate

The Legislature retains authority to restrict or expand the powers of Missouri's delegates within the stated limits

The application remains in effect until rescinded by a future legislature or until two-thirds of state legislatures (34 states) have made equivalent applications

Certified copies of the application must be sent to the President, Vice President, Speaker of the House, Missouri's congressional delegation, and presiding officers of all state legislatures
