Requests the Bridgeton Landfill to stop pumping or dumping leachate into the Missouri River

Leachate is rainwater that becomes contaminated as it seeps through landfills, coal piles, or mine tailings, posing threats to aquifers, rivers, lakes, and watersheds

Municipal landfill gas contains hazardous components including methane (40-60%), carbon dioxide (40-60%), as well as trace amounts of radioactive materials (Lead-210, Radium-226, Radon, Thorium, Uranium-235) and toxic chemicals (arsenic, benzene, vinyl chloride)

The U.S. has 3,091 active landfills and over 10,000 old municipal landfills according to the EPA

Directs the Chief Clerk of the Missouri House of Representatives to prepare and deliver a copy of the resolution to Bridgeton Landfill management
