Missouri's 98th General Assembly urges Congress and the President to enact H.R. 1769 and S. 901, the Toxic Exposure Research Act of 2015

Veterans have been exposed to toxic chemicals across multiple conflicts: Agent Orange during Vietnam, neurotoxins during the Gulf War, and chemical weapons and burn pits during Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and New Dawn

The federal legislation would create a national center within the Department of Veterans Affairs to research treatment and diagnosis of health conditions affecting descendants of veterans exposed to toxins

The Department of Defense would be authorized to declassify certain toxic exposure incidents, create a database of congenital anomalies, and conduct a national outreach campaign on long-term health effects

The Chief Clerk is directed to send copies of the resolution to the President, congressional leaders, and all members of Missouri's congressional delegation
