Public school districts and local educational agencies are prohibited from pursuing or accepting grants that would require collecting or reporting student data in violation of sections 160.522, 161.096, or federal student privacy regulations

Districts seeking grants that require student data collection must notify students and parents/guardians before applying for the grant

A minimum 30-day public comment period must be provided before pursuing or accepting any grant involving student data collection

All public comments must be posted and all significant comments must receive responses before the district can pursue or accept the grant
