Requires commercial driver's license (CDL) and permit applicants to self-certify into one of four categories: nonexcepted interstate, excepted interstate, nonexcepted intrastate, or excepted intrastate, per Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requirements (49 CFR Part 383.71)

Applicants in nonexcepted interstate or intrastate commerce must provide a current medical examiner's certificate, which the state must retain for a minimum of three years beyond the issuance date

Medical certification information must be posted to the Missouri driver record and CDLIS within ten calendar days of submission

Drivers who fail to maintain current medical certification will have their status changed to "not certified" within ten calendar days and must downgrade their CDL within sixty days

Falsifying medical certification information results in a one-year cancellation of commercial driving privileges
