Establishes a 10-year statute of repose for product liability claims, requiring lawsuits for economic loss, personal injury, property damage, or wrongful death from defective products to be filed within 10 years of the product's first sale, lease, or placement in commerce

Exempts real property and improvements to real property from the 10-year limitation

Does not apply when the defendant knowingly concealed a defective or unsafe condition that directly caused the harm

Extends the deadline to 2 years after the stated useful life if a manufacturer advertises or provides a written warranty stating the product has an expected useful life exceeding 10 years

Applies to civil actions filed on or after August 28, 2016, with a transition provision allowing claims that accrued before that date to be filed until August 28, 2017
