Political subdivisions in Missouri must recognize valid plumber's licenses issued by other political subdivisions in the state, waiving their own licensure requirements if the license holder passed an examination approved by the Division of Professional Registration.

License holders must still obtain a business license in any political subdivision where they wish to work, even with reciprocity.

Reciprocity applies to plumber's apprentices, journeyman plumbers, and master plumbers, but does not apply to plumbing foremen.

Licenses issued before August 28, 2026 qualify for reciprocity if the holder was required to pass a test to obtain the license.
