Retired certificated teachers may teach full-time for school districts without losing retirement benefits, beginning no earlier than July 1, 2027, with no time limit on employment duration (compared to current 4-year limit)

Retired teachers returning to work cannot be employed in administrative positions and will not contribute to or earn additional service credit in the retirement system

Hiring school districts must pay the employer's contribution rate into the retirement system for rehired retirees

Compensation for rehired retirees must be commensurate with the district's salary schedule based on years of experience and education level, though salary may be reduced by the employee retirement contribution rate percentage

All persons hired under this section must be included in the State Directory of New Hires for income and eligibility verification purposes
