Election notice publication timeline extended from one week to six weeks prior to an election

Election authorities may now mail legal notices to registered voters within six weeks of an election and publish once in county newspapers, removing the previous restriction limiting this option to jurisdictions with fewer than 750 registered voters

Inactive voters designated under section 115.193 may be excluded from election notice mailings

General obligation bonds issued by counties, cities, school districts, and special districts are deemed compliant with Chapter 115 election requirements once the election contest period under section 115.557 expires without a challenge

Candidates and ballot issues cannot be removed from ballots less than eight weeks before an election, except upon death of a candidate or court order
