Firearms safety courses must be at least 8 hours and include live-fire testing of 20 rounds at 7 yards, with applicants required to hit the silhouette target with at least 15 rounds to pass

Instructors who knowingly provide false information about an applicant's training performance commit a class C misdemeanor and are prohibited from teaching future concealed carry classes

Sheriffs collect a $10 annual registration fee from qualified instructors, with records maintained in a statewide database by the Missouri Sheriff Methamphetamine Relief Taskforce
