Advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) with controlled substance prescriptive authority would be authorized to prescribe all Schedule II controlled substances, removing the current restriction that limits them to only hydrocodone-containing medications and Schedule II drugs for hospice patients

Removes the separate provision that allowed APRNs to prescribe Schedule II controlled substances specifically for hospice patients employed by certified hospice providers, as this exception becomes unnecessary under the expanded authority

Schedule III narcotic controlled substances and Schedule II hydrocodone prescriptions remain limited to a 120-hour supply without refill

APRNs still cannot prescribe controlled substances in Schedules II through V for the purpose of inducing sedation or general anesthesia for therapeutic, diagnostic, or surgical procedures

Certified registered nurse anesthetists remain excluded from controlled substance prescriptive authority under collaborative practice arrangements
