Requires police departments in counties with more than one million inhabitants to establish a missing persons unit beginning January 1, 2027

Unit responsibilities include coordinating and investigating missing persons reports, entering information into MULES and NCIC databases, and establishing communication systems for missing persons information

Mandates coordination with the Missouri State Highway Patrol's missing persons unit established under section 43.402

Departments may hire new officers and staff or reassign current employees to the unit, with compensation paid from the department's annual operating budget
