Employers with 10 or more employees must provide a minimum of 2 hours of paid leave per calendar month for employees to attend school-related activities for their children

School-related activities include conferences, meetings, appointments, disciplinary proceedings, academic support sessions, or events initiated by schools, daycares, or licensed childcare providers

Leave must be paid at the employee's regular rate, cannot be counted against other accrued leave, may be taken in 30-minute increments, and does not carry over to subsequent months

Employers are prohibited from interfering with or retaliating against employees who use this leave

Willful violations are subject to administrative penalties of up to $500 per violation, enforced by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations
