Fire protection districts may charge businesses and individuals who receive emergency services within district boundaries for actual and reasonable costs, removing the previous restriction that only applied to those residing outside the district

Insurance companies (as defined in section 376.020) may also be billed for emergency services unless coverage for fire district responses is explicitly excluded under the applicable policy

District residents and businesses with a physical address within the district are exempt from these service charges

Maximum allowable charges remain capped at $100 per fire call or alarm and $250 per hour (or proportional quarter-hour rate) for responding to fires or emergencies
